Cllr Lewis reports
Although the Welfare is presently closed there are ongoing discussions as to its future, which will be presented to the village in due course.
Many residents have complained about the refuse collections and the mess that is left behind, NPT are aware of the problem and will make arrangements to sort the matter
Many of the pavements are damaged and NPT will repair these as soon as possible
Issues raised by Community Councillors
There is a shortage of drop kerbs in the village making it difficult for the disabled.
There are some protruding bolts on the aqueduct bridge
Trees cut down near cables have been left near a culvert in Abergarwed and need to be removed.

The final accounts have been placed with Wales Audit
2 Quotes have been received for the youth pod and will be taken to the Parks meeting.
PAT testing has been completed in The Community Centre and Bowling green
72/23. Correspondence
None recorded. To clarify this note the Clerk receives a lot of correspondence much of which is from Welsh and local government, other organisations, adverts and various other correspondence, which is forwarded to Councillor’s for information, but only records on the agenda for discussion, that which relates specifically to the Community Council.
73/23 Request from Resolven AFC to install a lock up next to the disabled toilet.
Following discussion, it was agreed to allow Resolven AFC the installation.
74/23 Sub-Committee Reports
Joint Park/ Finance committees – The minutes of the meeting 12th July 2023 were accepted as a true record.
A suggestion to put the reserve account into a high interest account was discussed. The Clerk will look into a suitable investment and report back at the next meeting.
Next Parks/Finance meeting will be held on Thursday 21st September at 6pm.
75/23 Chairman’s Report.
The Chairman welcomed all back following the August recess and advised that Autumn renovations will commence in the bowling green.
76/23 Councillors Report
Cllr N. Francis suggested the purchase of a projector screen would be more cost effective than a TV for use in Zoom meetings. This was agreed by full council.
Cllr T. Jones reminded members that the One Voice Wales meeting will be held here on Wednesday 20th September 2023 at 7pm
