The Chair welcomed Cllr Jones to the meeting who outlined her various commitments and gave an overview of her work as a County Councillor. There followed a good discussion about various
issues in the villages that she represents, and members were pleased that she stayed for the whole meeting and engaged with all present.

The Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 4th July 2024 were accepted as a true record.
70/24 Clerk’s report and Council Matters Arising/Materion yn codi o’r cofnodion
ac adroddiad y Clerc.
The Clerk was away for most of August, but had met with the contractors for the new disabled swing on return.
71/24 Double Olympian Daniel Jervis
A proposal to commemorate the sporting achievements of local boy Daniel Jervis by way of a plaque placed on the community hall was discussed and approved. The family will be contacted to collaborate with members on the project.
72/24 Storage space for Neath Valley Music
A request to store musical equipment at the community centre has been received, following discussion it was agreed to ask the group to attend the next meeting on 3rd October to establish their requirements.

75/24 Chairman’s Report –
The Chair was invited and attended the Mayor Civic Service
76/24 Councillors Report
Cllr A. Jones reported that the bowling green has had a very busy season culminating in a very
successful tournament in which teams from many areas took part.
There has been an increase in the amount of anti-social behaviour over the summer period and it was agreed to invite the Sgt and PCSO to the next meeting.
Cllr Neal Place advised that the electric charging points will shortly be available at the Rugy Club for residents to charge their cars.
Members would like to congratulate the Ty Banc Canal group on a very successful festival in August.
