The Monthly Meeting of the Council was held on Thursday 6th September 2018 at 6.15pm in the Community Centre.

Prior to the meeting the members held a minute’s silence to commemorate Cllr Lyn Jenkins who recently passed away. Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family

The Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 5th July 2018 were accepted as a true record.
88/18 County Councillors Report and Matters Arising
Cllr Davies sent the following report
The double yellow lines at Corry Street and the railings in Glyncastle will be dealt with in the next financial year.
The removal of the white junction lines at the lane entrance at the bottom of Railway Terrace will be removed shortly
The Glyncastle shortcut will be cleaned in due course
The bus shelter on Glynneath Road has been cleaned
The catering wagon at the canal basin toilets is waiting planning permission

Matters arising
Christmas Lights. 2 quotes have been received for the installation of the lights and it was agreed to award the contract to local supplier Stay Safe Ltd
90/18 Approve adoption of Privacy Policy and Annual review
Following the introduction of new data protection regulations, a privacy policy was drawn up for Resolven Community Council and presented to the members. This was approved, and will the guidelines now used to protect public privacy. The policy will be available on the council web site in due course.
The members agreed the annual review of the community council and this will be sent to all wards in Resolven and Abergarwed.
91/18 Annual return report and re-certify annual return
The external auditor BDO has now completed their audit of the council accounts which were re-certified
92/18 Independent Review Panel
The above panel has been reviewing the role of Town and Community Councils and has sent their findings to all respective parties.
93/18 Plaque on Bench at Abergarwed
Cllr A. Jones will place memorial plaque on bench in due course.
94/18 NPT request to note Resolven Community Centre as a Building of Importance
This was agreed by all members
95/18 Correspondence Received
OVW – Area Committee meeting 19th September at the hall, Cllr T. Jones and the Clerk will attend
NRW – Forestry Operations in Glyncastle
WG Ken Skates re underpass. A letter was sent to the Minister to advise that more work is required on the underpass. He advised that he instruct SWTRA to inspect the area.

Parks and Environment – The minutes of the last meeting on 17th July 2018 were accepted as a true record..
97/18 Chairman’s Report
Cllr Jones congratulated the Resolven Events Committee for a superb carnival this year which was enjoyed by all.
Members are pleased to see that the Aqueduct has been inspected and await the report.
The Toddler Time Play Group were presented with a speaker for their music
A possible location for a new graveyard has been identified and will be looked into.
A new company called Ventient Energy has taken over the Ffyon Oer Wind Farm Project.
