Bowling green, Pavilion.
The bowling green kitchen needs refurbishment and an estimate will be put into next years precept for this project.
Thirty slabs around the bowling green are cracked (H&S) and need replacing. Quotation for the replacement slabs are required.
Dumped materials. There has been over the years materials dumped in the bottom end of the park. Since the new gravel road has been installed this has exposed the problem. This material needs to be removed.
Due to the equipment required in the park/bowling green there is a need for extra safe storage. It has been proposed that we consider purchasing a ten foot container to store materials and equipment. This will be sited between the raised beds and the skip where the ground is already made up with Tarmac.
There are spare floodlights available at Clyne School and enquiries are being made by County Councillor Des Davies to secure them for the bowling green. The costs of installation of the lights will be looked at, if and when the lights are available. The bowlers are prepared to do the spade work to facilitate this project. A quotation for the electrical work will be required.
Reviewing the Pavilion and park keeper’s requirements a list of tools and fixtures for the bowling green has been drawn up. Reviewing the list, it looks as if it we only require about £200 to cover it. This will mean people don’t have to bring their own tools to do jobs in the park.
Abergarwed Park
The remembrance plaque for Councillor R. Davies needs to be fitted.
It was agreed to review the parks facilities in coming year.
