1a Ty Banc Container and MoU for Neath Cluster Group
Prior to the meeting members of the full council met to discuss the request from the Ty Banc canal group to put a temporary container on the land at the bottom of the park. Ms Yunyun Herbert attended the meeting to advise that the container had been funded by the Welsh Government with the Coronavirus Recovery fund
for volunteering, Ty Banc Group is the funding manager, and partners in the project include NPTCBC, Inland Waterways Assoc., Neath and Tennant Canal Trust and the Town and Community Councils. The container would be available for use of the Ty Banc Group, the community council and other community groups.
Resolved to allow the container to be installed
2a The Upper Neath Valley Project Development Cluster
The Memorandum of Understanding was formally agreed by members of the Community Council
Resolved to adopt Memorandum of Understanding
Council members Mr A. Morgan and Mr T. Jones left the meeting
Parks
The installation of Des’ bench will take place in due course. Hardstanding to laid.
The proposal to erect youth pods in the park was suggested and will be taken to the full council
Following the decision for members to take ownership of various projects together, each member of the parks committee will partner with a member of the finance committee to propose and carry through various projects.
Those currently underway, are revamp the MUGA, exercise equipment and a track around the sports field and a rockery. Funding will need to be sourced from outside organisations to enable these plans developed.
Bowling green/Pavilion
New lagging required for the pavilion roof to bring up to current regulations. A grant was sourced for this project but rejected. Further funding will be sourced when possible.
Still waiting for list of memorial bench holders
All raised beds have now been taken there are still some flower beds available.
Children’s park
Safety flooring now installed under the double swings
Abergarwed Park
The defibrillator for Abergarwed has been installed in the telephone box and flyers delivered to all households in Abergarwed. Training can be arranged with a minimum of 15 people.
Hall
No issues reported.
Environment
The issue of the notice boards in the hall and around the village was re-visited, and it was agreed to obtain prices
