The Monthly Meeting of the Council was held on Thursday 4th October 2018 at 5.30pm in the Community Centre.

Prior to the meeting Mrs Yunyun Herbert attended the meeting to discuss the possibility of forming a community group to re-instate the canal from Resolven to Neath. The members discussed this project in much detail and offered their full support to this venture.

Matters arising
Climbing frame – Members were disappointed that their grant application to Pen Y Cymoedd has been turned down. We are now £5,000 short for the project and will look to other means to secure this funding.
Defibrillators and boxes – Members are waiting for Cariad to install the items.
Stay Safe Ltd have been awarded the contract to install the Christmas lights in the village
104/18 Next years’ precept
Members were asked to consider projects for the next financial year in order to finalise the precept.

Parks and Environment – The minutes of the last meeting on 19th September 2018 were accepted as a true record.
Finance/Funding – The minutes of last meeting on 20th September 2018 were accepted as a true record.
107/18 Chairmans Report
The Chairman expressed concern that the Glyncastle shortcut has still not been cleared and he will contact Cllr Des Davies.
108/18 Councillors Reports
The roots of the tree outside Sardis and near the dram are coming up out of the pavement. NPT to be contacted.
The suggestion of a plaque for Cllr Redvers Davies to be placed in the hall was proposed and agreed.
