92/17 County Councillors Report and Matters Arising
80/17 NPT have advised that they will clear the japanese knotweed on their land only in John Street, however any found on private property is the responsibility of the owners.
16/1 Underpass at Abergarwed
SWTRA has scheduled work for 14th October 2017 for clearance of the culvert.

83/17 The Christmas lights have been collected by the contractor Centregreat.
94/17 Resolven Events Committee
A request from Resolven Events Committee to use field for Carnival next year was approved by members
95/17 Park keepers’ Employment over Winter
It was agreed to extend the Park Keepers’ employment over the winter for 2 days per month to cover any renovations. The relief Park Keepers contract is at an end and will be re-advertised next year. A letter of thanks is to be sent to the volunteer bowlers who have helped so much with renovations this year.
96/17 Children’s park
A recommendation to move the spring type equipment to the toddler section was delegated to the parks committee for discussion.
97/17 New purchases for the parks
A request that all new capital purchases for the parks be considered by the parks committee before coming to the full council. This was agreed.
98/17 Correspondence Received
NPT – A Letter from the Streetscene and Engineering Board to advise, that due to the numerous complaints from residents, and concerns raised by the Community Council, they will recommend that One Way Scheme at Cory Street and Company Street should be withdrawn.

100/17 School Governors Report
The Governors started with the election of Chair, County Councillor Des Davies, and Vice Chair Mr Chris Davies.
Committees were also appointed i.e. Child Protection and Finance.
Last years IT note books were not a success and the school will purchase alternatives.
Mr Dodd the Headmaster is still on temporary assignment at another school, however temporary Head Mr Morgan at Ynys Fach Primary is doing very well.
The next meeting will be at the end of November.
101/17 Chairman’s Report.
Cllr Jones attended Neath Port Talbot Hospital to visit Cllr Redvers Davies who unfortunately has had another fall and broken another hip. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Cllr Jones and Cllr John along with the Clerk attended at the children’s’ park with representatives of the Pen Y Cymoedd Community Fund to take photos of the new equipment which was partly funded by their grant of £5000

Cllr Ace reported that the library was doing very well
A report from residents of noise nuisance from the TRW site was received
The Armistice celebration will be on Sunday 12th November this year.
