The Monthly Meeting of the Council was held on Thursday 12th November 2020 at 6pm in the Community Centre.

The culvert at Waterfall Terrace has now been cleared.
Work is currently being carried out from Forestry road to Church hill.
The Abergarwed area is being checked every 3 months for land slips, and after any heavy rainfall.
The shortcut to Glyncastle is also being cleared
91/20 Minutes of the previous Meeting/Cofnodion y Cyfarfod Diwethaf
The Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 1st October were accepted as a true record.
92/20 Clerk’s report and Council Matters Arising/Materion yn codi o’r cofnodion ac adroddiad y Clerc.
The Clerks report was presented and approved.
The defibrillator in Abergarwed will be installed in the new year and flyers will be sent around the village
Des’ bench will also be installed in the new year
93/20 Resignation of Cllr Rob Roberts – Notice of Vacancy
The Representative of Abergarwed, Councillor Rob Roberts has sadly offered his resignation from the community council due to ill health. We wish him well for the future. A notice of vacancy will be put up in due course. A letter of thanks will also be sent.
94/20 Budget forecast and precept for next financial year 21/22
A budget forecast for the 21/22 financial year was presented to the full council who referred it back to the finance committee for further discussion
95/20 Correspondence
A request for permission to erect a Christmas tree in the square was submitted to the council for approval by the Resolven Events Group Committee. However community council permission is not required, the group were directed to the Church and NPT planning.
96/20 Sub-Committee Reports
Parks/Environment/Hall committee – The minutes of the meeting 7th October 2020 were accepted as a true record. – No matters arising
Finance/Funding – The minutes of the meeting 8th October 2020 were accepted as a true record.
Christmas Lunch Fund – A local resident is putting on Christmas lunches for people in the area and it was agreed to donate £100
Royal British Legion – 2 local residents Claire Kirby and Jessica Day carried out an 11 mile walk around the village to commemorate Armistice Day and it was agreed to donate £25 to the fund in lieu of our traditional poppy wreath.

The community help line has not been used over the recent lock down
Congratulations to Claire Kirby and Jessica Day who completed an 11 mile walk around the village for the Royal British Legion
The Resolven Health Centre has now been sold to a security firm
