Minutes of the meeting Parks and Environment and Hall Committee 13th November 2019

Parks
1. The MUGA needs power washing – to be done in due course
2. A suggestion to put memorial benches in the park – It was agreed to source a suitable bench as a memorial to Cllr Des Davies and install in the Spring
Bowling green/Pavilion.
1. New lagging required for the pavilion roof to bring up to current regulations.
A grant will be sourced for this project. – ongoing
Children’s park
Continual problems with football being played on the hardstanding in the small children’s section – A suggestion to remove part of the fencing in the MUGA to make it accessible and therefore alleviate the problem in the Children’s park
Abergarwed Park
The refurbishment of the play equipment, has been done however the standard is very poor and the contractor has been informed
An inspection form has been drawn up for regular inspections of the park – this will be taken to the full council for approval
The Telephone box in Abergarwed is now the responsibility of the Community Council and notices have been put inside
Hall
A new boiler has been installed and a new toilet seat has been purchased
Environment
The Christmas wrap lights will be tested and installed by December 1st
The paintings and plaques have been received for the Doctors surgery –
The paintings of Jerusalem Church have been donated to the congregation the others will placed around the hall
Councillor training on the Code of Conduct will be arranged in house
Proposals for the Precept in the next financial year
Revamp the MUGA – Quoted to be obtained for future financial planning
