Minutes of the meeting Parks and Environment and Hall Committee 18th May 2022

Parks
Des’ bench now installed
Bowling green/Pavilion.
New lagging required for the pavilion roof to bring up to current regulations.
A grant was sourced for this project but rejected. Further funding will be source when possible.
The lights on the green have now been repaired by the Bowls club.
Toilets in need of refurbishing. Application to Tai Tarian Community Fund to be completed. ongoing
New gate and fence panels installed
broken paving slabs repaired and replaced
New flooring to be purchased for the foyer and changing rooms – ongoing
Hedges to be cut, and ivy in the corner have been done
Strim around the parks – ongoing
Tennis court has been painted – gates and panels in due course.
A proposal to obtain a liquor licence for the Pavilion was put forward and will be taken to the full council
Children’s Park
No issues raised
Abergarwed Park
The ROSPA inspections have taken place in both Resolven and Abergarwed parks and the necessary repairs are in hand.
Hall
The carpet in the main hall has been replaced and included the attic and attic stairs.
Areas around the hall to be cleared of brambles etc: – ongoing
Due to the attic now in use there is no storage available, and the Clerk has requested shelving to be installed in the caretaker cupboard. Also 2 new vacuum cleaners as the current ones are unsuitable. This was agreed in principle and will be taken to the full council.
Proposal to install a small fridge in the kitchen has been agreed by the full council.
Environment
The issue of the notice boards in the hall and around the village was re-visited, and it was agreed to obtain a price to replace the John Street board.

- Cinder Track – quotes to be obtained

- Revamp the MUGA – removal of fencing to allow access
