The Monthly Meeting of the Council was held on Thursday 2nd May 2019 at 6.15pm in the Community Centre.

New Chairman Cllr. Alun Morgan thanked previous Chair Cllr. Aylwin Jones for all his hard work over the last year and looked forward to a successful and challenging year to come.
The Chair and members were sad to note the resignation of Cllr Donna Stroud and thanked her for all her hard work over the years.

38/19 Chairman’s Report
The Chair and members would like to congratulate Daniel Jervis on his recent success at the British Swimming Championship held in Glasgow, where he won the 400m and 1500m races. he is now the second fasted British swimmer ever over 1500m. He has also qualified for the World Championships in South Korea in July 2019. Well Done Dan.
Congratulations to the 2 Resolven Football teams who won promotion in their respective divisions of the Neath & District League.And more sporting congratulations to Resolven Rugby Youth team who reached the final of the WRU Bowl at the Principality Stadium.
Congratulation also to Melissa Gnojek who played for Wales Women’s Rugby team against England who went on to win
39/19 Councillor Reports
Members expressed concern at the amount of cars now parking in the access lanes causing obstruction. This will be monitored and passed on the authorities if it continues.
There are overgrown trees on the public pathway between Rheola and Vaughan Avenue this will be reported to the relevant party.
