Can anyone help
I am writing this e-mail to introduce myself prior to my wife and I visiting Wales in September. My name is Paul Bailey and I live in Tobaccoville, North Carolina, USA. My great grandparents lived in Resolven prior to immigrating to the USA in 1869 and 1871. They lived next to the Sion Methodist Church at the corner of Tanyrhiw and Pentwyn Rds. which I understand is now the Resolven Community Council Centre. My Great-great grandparents John and Mary Morgan and there daughter Ann are in fact buried in front of the Center (B5, B7). I am interested in any information that may be available in researching my ancesters and the community. I wondered if there were any local residents who may be connected to or visit these graves. I have a copy of John’s death certificate but have not been able to locate Mary’s yet. I also have copies of the 1841-1881 censuses for them with the addresses or dwelling names and would like to be able to match these to current dwellings if still present or their approximate locations.
The second week of Sept. we will be doing a guided tour of Wales and then we will be staying in Swansea for 11 days where we will rent a car and visit ancestral locations. If there is someone from the Community Council or anyone in the community who would be interested in talking with us when we visit Resolven we would be most delighted.
Sincerely,
Paul H. Bailey
