Minutes of the meeting Parks and Environment Committee
17th July 2018

Prior to the meeting the members met with Mr John Llewelyn and Mr Alastair Wheeler from the Resolven Football Club, in response to the complaint received from Mr and Mrs H. Lewis in Vaughan Avenue. They agreed to write a letter of apology and look into obtaining grants to provide netting.
Parks
1. As there are now several areas for the Park Keeper to cover it was agreed to set up a rolling programme to make sure all areas were covered – ongoing
Bowling green, Pavilion
The pathway has now been completed.
The kitchen in the pavilion is in need of refurbishment and it was agreed to put forward this project in next year’s precept
New staging is required to assist in cutting the hedges. Quotes to be obtained.
Children’s park
Awaiting reply from the probation team re painting the new railings
The multi gym has now been removed and grants will be applied for to purchase a new piece of equipment.
Abergarwed Park
The benches at Ty Banc have been installed – awaiting plaque
It was agreed to review the park facilities in the coming year
Councillor Reports.
Several areas of grass around the village have now been cut.
An area of Japanese knotweed in the parks need to be eradicated
The pathway behind the school needs to be cleared. Pathways Officer to be contacted.
