The Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 6th June 2024 were accepted as a true record.
59/24 Clerk’s report and Council Matters Arising/Materion yn codi o’r cofnodion
ac adroddiad y Clerc.
The clerk’s report was presented and approved, there were no matters arising.
60/24 Report of Logs at old garage at Abergarwed
A local resident has reported a very large number of logs being stored at the old garage/tack room at Abergarwed. The members agreed to contact planning to see if any planning requirement have been breached.
61/24. Request for grant to the bowls clubs for upcoming tournament
The Resolven bowls clubs will be holding a premier bowls tournament in the Welsh calendar, which will showcase the excellent bowls green we have in Resolven on 4th August 2024. A request for a grant of £300 has been received to supply refreshments to the public. Following discussion, it was agreed that the grant would be provided on the condition that the Resolven Community Council was acknowledged as the provider.
62/24. Security measures at the bowing green
Due to the recent vandalism at the bowling green, it was agreed to look into the installation of security measures to deter any repeat of this behaviour.

Parks Committee – The minutes of the parks meeting 20/6/24 were accepted as a true record.
Finance Committee –The minutes of the finance meeting 20/6/24 were accepted as a true record.
The bank reconciliation was presented and signed by the Chair
65/24 Chairman’s Report –
The Chair was invited to the Resolven Carnival and asked to judge the Victoria sponge contest.
He also attended a school Governors meeting.
66/24 Councillors Report
A Notice that the next meeting of OVW will be on 3rd September 2024
A suggestion to look into the prospect of employing an assistant clerk in the next financial year to aid continuity of the council when the current clerk wishes to retire, will be discussed over the coming months.
