The Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 6th December 2018 were accepted as a true record
04/19 Clerk’s report and Council Matters Arising/Materion yn codi o’r cofnodion ac adroddiad y Clerc.
The Clerks report was presented and approved
05/19 Draft Council and Parks Mission Statements for approval
As part of the Council’s guiding principles, it was agreed to draft mission statements for the Council, Parks and Environment and Finance departments. The mission statements drawn up by the Chair and Clerk were read out and following discussion were formally approved, they will now be part of the councils policy. A draft finance mission statement is ongoing. The statements will be published on the councils web site and placed on the notice boards.

07/19 Sub-Committee Reports – no meetings in December
Tai Tarian will be open to approaches for open spaces in the Spring. The Community Council will approach on behalf of Abergarwed park.
08/19 Chairman’s Report
The Chairman welcomed new councillor Mr Bob Roberts and wished everyone a Happy New year.
He advised that a meeting had been arranged with Jeremy Miles AM for Monday 14th January with himself and Councillor Des Davies in relation to the A465 resurfacing. However due to County Councillor Des Davies being unable to attend due to ill health the meeting has been postponed.
During the month of December he had attended the children’s concert at Ynysfach Primary School and a presentation at Llangatwg School, both events were a great success
09/19 Councillor Reports
Cllr Trefor Jones advised that Swansea University had published a sociological report on Care Homes in Wales. The report concluded that small localised care was more beneficial to residents in the long term. Cllr Jones felt that this was a positive sign in favour of homes such as Trem Y Glyn
Concern was expressed for the need of a defibrillator in Abergarwed
A report of rubbish being dumped on private land at the Old sidings in Abergarwed.
