The Minutes of the Meeting held on Thursday 5th January 2017 were accepted as a true record.
04/17 County Councillors report / Adroddiad y Cynghorydd Sirol
114/16 -Possible further landslip at Abergarwed
Cllr Davies has continued to make representations regarding the matter with Jeremy Miles AM, NPT, NRW and the Coal Authority. There are still many concerns regarding the land slipping and Cllr Davies will seek to have the issue addressed as soon as possible.
NPT engineers continue to monitor and have contacted Cllr Davies to advise of their visit on 1st February 2017
16/16 – Underpass at Abergarwed
This issue again continues to cause concern and Cllr Davies has received a letter from The Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary Ken Skates stating that they are responsible for the underpass and will be liaising with NRW to sort the problem. This matter will now be dealt with by the relevant authorities.

Following contact from Cllr Davies Western Power Distributors have pruned the tree that was entangled with the power line from approximately the junction of the B4434 to properties on Glynneath Road

Mail to Llys Bethania, Railway Terrace not being delivered correctly.
05/17 Clerk’s report and Council Matters Arising/Materion yn codi o’r cofnodion ac adroddiad y Clerc.
The Clerk’s report was presented to members, there were no matters arising.
06/17 NPT the canal basin toilets
The community council were approached regarding the possibility of taking over the toilets at the canal basin, however this matter is now being dealt with by Cllr Des Davies to clarify certain points.
07/17 Refurbishment of kitchens at hall and pavilion – grant availability
The kitchens in both buildings are in need of updating to bring them up to standard. It was agreed to apply for grants to make this possible.
The NPT community fund has been approached and other funders will be looked into.
08/17 Correspondence Received
Resolven Events Committee – Re use of park and other facilities for the carnival of 1st July 2017.
Resolved to grant permission
High Sheriff’s Award – nominations to be put forward for this award.
E-mails from Mr I. Starkes regarding right of way application and possible new bridge. This matter is under discussion and ongoing.

Finance
The minutes of the finance committee were presented and accepted as a true record. The 9 monthly financial review and budget to actual were approved by the full council.

Parks
The next meeting will be Thursday 9th Feb 2017 at 6.15pm
Hall
A new committee has been set up to drive forward more use of the community centre. Suggestions include an Open Day for the village, advertising in the community magazine and outreach to universities and training centres.
It was agreed to replace the microwave.
